Digitec ICT Ltd. and Caritas Business College Collaborate on Cybersecurity Boot Camp
On May 14, 2024, Caritas Business College teamed up with Digitec ICT Ltd. to host a Cybersecurity Boot Camp, specifically tailored for Year 2 students. Held at the CBC Multi-purpose Hall, the boot camp provided an in-depth look at the world of cybersecurity, a field that has become increasingly critical in today’s digital age.
The event was spearheaded by Mr. Preetam Talukdar, General Manager and Head of ICT Cybersecurity-ISP at Digitec, with the support of Ms. Roxanne Severa, Caritas Business College’s In-Plant Training Coordinator. This collaboration highlighted the strong partnership between Digitec and CBC, one that has been instrumental in shaping the in-plant training experience for CBC students. Over the course of the boot camp, students were introduced to a wide range of cybersecurity topics, including data protection, risk management, threat detection, and network security protocols. Mr. Talukdar and his team emphasized the importance of staying vigilant in today’s interconnected world, where cyber threats are constantly evolving. Students were also given hands-on exercises, allowing them to engage with real-world scenarios, apply problem-solving techniques, and test cybersecurity tools.
Ms. Roxanne Severa, as In-Plant Training Coordinator, further reinforced the value of practical exposure in preparing students for their professional journeys. This boot camp, along with their broader in-plant training, serves as a key component in developing their technical proficiency and understanding of workplace demands.
Digitec’s involvement in the boot camp underscores its commitment to shaping the future workforce in ICT and cybersecurity. As a pivotal partner to Caritas Business College, Digitec provides students with the chance to explore various aspects of ICT, offering a pathway to meaningful career opportunities.
This partnership reflects CBC’s dedication to integrating cutting-edge industry knowledge with academic learning. By collaborating with leading companies like Digitec, CBC ensures that its students are not only equipped with theoretical knowledge but are also ready to take on the challenges and opportunities in the rapidly growing field of cybersecurity.
